Artist - Yi Yuan

Hi, I’m Yi Yuan.

Born in southern China’s tropical haze, I grew up tracing Japanese cartoons—enchanted by pencil scratches and dancing lines. I loved art but raged when unseen.

Rebelling against tradition, I remained self-taught, clinging to my aesthetic: 1920s illustrations, Japanese prints, Zen emptiness. It cost me. Critics called me "unviable," but the real chains were my perfectionism—hating my limitations, comparing myself to da Vinci.

Then came clarity: I paint to heal. Art isn’t the destination but the path. Now I create to feel love, to dissolve loneliness. May my work whisper peace to you. That’s my purpose.
